It was a boy

The baby we lost at the end of January was tested for chromosomal and genetic defects. They found NO defects. We also found out it was a boy. Oh boy was Wes bummed. There is too much estrogen at our house (even the dog is a girl). LOLLLLLLLLL!!!

So still no answers for why I keep loosing babies. I have an appointment to go see a fetal and and maternal specialist later this month.

Not that I have any medical training or anything but I've been doing lots of research on my newest medical challenge and found out that hypothyroid can cause fertility problems and miscarriage. I don't know if that is on the battery of tests they run or if you might be interested but I found it interesting because I wouldn't have thought to link the two. If you want/need any additional information, let me know and I can email you some research.

Yes, they have tested me for thyroid disorders. The first level of testing came back on the low side of abnormal for hypothyroid but the second level of testing came back normal. I forget names of tests. That is the only test so far that has come back the least bit abnormal. Two of the things I plan to pursue with the specialist the thyroid and progesterone levels. Will you please e-mail me some articles? E-mail to huntingcreek3@gmail.com Also, I was thinking the other day I wanted to read some research articles so could you let me know what are the top journals for fertility problems, miscarriages and fetal demise. General web searches are irritating me for those topics. Especially since I have read a lot research articles and books about other topics and know that there is more and better information available. Thank you.

Melissa,
So sorry to hear about your loss. I must admit that I haven't been following your blog, but somehow I got to yours from Tina's because the title "It was a boy" caught my attention...I didn't even know it was your blog. You may remember that I had a lot of trouble staying pregnant before I had my three miracle babies. I lost five other babies, and that possibly could have been avoided if I had been sent to Dr. Mark Grant sooner. I hope he is the Maternal-Fetal Specialist you will be going to. He is amazing. Just let me know if you need his phone number. I would love to talk to you if I can help in any way. My phone and email are in the stake directory.

Andi, I will e-mail you. I thought of contacting you many times especially after I lost the baby last year at 20 weeks.
